Time flies when you're having fun... and when you're living in your favourite part of London, Angel!
As I come up to two years living in this beautiful city, here's 12 of my favourite things to do in Angel.
12 Best Things to Do in Angel, London
1. Take a stroll along Regent's Canal
Angel is situated along the Regent's Canal, one of London's best walking trails. A walk along the water is a must if it's your first time to Angel. One time, I was lucky enough to catch a free boat ride from some friendly boaters all the way to King's Cross!
On the way to the canal, pass by the gardens on Colebrooke Row. If you're lucky in Spring, you will find the beautiful cherry blossom trees in full bloom!
2. Go out for a delicious brunch
There are loads of brunch places in Angel, like Breakfast Club which always has a crazy queue, Blue Legume, Brother Marcus, Sunday, Beyond Bread and more. For a value brunch, check out the unassuming Rheidol Rooms on St. Peter's Street. It's good quality home cooked food that won't break your wallet!
3. Hang out on Islington Green
Filled with huge trees and plenty of benches, Islington Green is the perfect place to take a break no matter what season it is. And like most things in London, the trees are full of history, dated all the way back to 1808!
4. Get amazing sushi at Sushi Show
Sushi Show is a delicious, authentic sushi shop located on Camden Passage. When it comes to sushi, they never disappoint, and even sell some unique Japanese shelf foods you can't find at a regular grocery store!
5. Go for a walk down Camden Passage
Camden Passage is a pedestrian street tucked alongside Upper Street on the way to Angel Station. It is filled with shops, breakfast places, coffeeshops and has a regular antiques market!
6. Grab a coffee at The CoffeeWorks Project
While walking down Camden Passage, why not stop for a coffee?
Of the many, many coffeeshops in Angel, my favourite is The CoffeeWorks Project. They are always busy, and for good reason. They also have a lovely garden in the back, and their wifi is strong!
7. Have a fun night out at Angel Comedy Club @ the Camden Head
Angel Comedy is my not-so-secret favourite night out. I've been so often that I can probably repeat some of the sets. Free comedy, seven nights a week, from famous to brand new talent - it's pretty great. Here's a picture of the beautiful location @ The Camden Head pub, in snowy winter!
8. See a film at Everyman Screen on the Green
I love Screen on the Green so much that I became an Everyman member. It's an old cinema space filled with comfy couches, a bar and all the films you could want. I'm definitely going to miss this place.
9. Get a drink at The Island Queen
For an excellent balance of plants & pub, visit the Island Queen. It's just around the corner from bustling Upper Street, tucked into the residential area of the borough.
10. Go for dinner at Zen Mondo or Rosa's Thai Cafe
Zen Mondo is a Japanese restaurant located on Upper Street. Perfect service, and delicious food, what more could you ask for?
Rosa's Thai Cafe is our Deliveroo go-to -- good price, great portion size and delicious flavours. You can also dine in at their location on Theberton!
11. See a performance at Union Chapel
London has a thing for big, beautiful churches, and this one doesn't disappoint. It functions as an actual church but also a music & event venue. The acoustics and atmosphere are incomparable!
12. Get a cocktail at 69 Colebrooke Row
Finish your night at the Bar With No Name, located at 69 Colebrooke Row. It has a piano, about 10 seats and the perfect atmosphere for a small evening drink.
It is a bitter sweet feeling to leave Angel as it's been such an amazing place to live. If you're ever in London, pay a visit to this beautiful part of town!
