I visited Japan in the Spring specifically to see sakura - the cherry blossom trees!

Cherry Blossoms in Kyoto

Sadly, in 2018 the cherry blossom trees happened to bloom about a week earlier than usual, so I caught the trees just past prime and many petals had already fallen. I could only imagine how beautiful it would have been in full bloom.

One of the most beautiful viewpoints was the gardens of Heian Shrine, even on a rainy day! Also, the gorgeous gardens of Nijo Castle.
